Notre Dame Club of St. Louis
Welcome!
The Notre Dame Club of St. Louis is a place of welcome, friendship and personal and professional connections for our alumni, Saint Mary's alumnae, and our families and friends. Our club volunteers (you could be one of them!) work hard to offer a variety of activities to appeal to members young and old, including social gatherings, networking, volunteer work, lectures and spiritual growth opportunities.
2010 Game Watch Parties at iTap
As Brian Kelly puts it, we are looking for RKGs (right kind of guys/gals) to join the Notre Dame game watches at our new and improved location at International Taphouse (iTAP) in Soulard. iTAP has an extensive drink menu of over 400 beers from 25 different countries and they have agreed to give Notre Dame fans a nice discount. iTAP is also unique in that they don't have a kitchen, which means we are allowed to bring our own food or order something from many of the fine establishments located in Soulard. We will be planning on doing some grilling of our own and a chili cook-off later in the season when the weather gets cold, so come hungry. Additionally, we reserved leather couches and flat screen TVs at this family friendly establishment to upgrade your viewing pleasure, so come join your fellow alumni to cheer the Irish onward to victory.
International Taphouse is located at 1711 S 9th St. in Soulard(http://www.internationaltaphouse.com/soulard/index.php). iTAP will be prepared for the Irish onslaught beginning a half hour before game time.
If you have any questions about the game watch, please contact Rob Hutchison at (314) 221-0729. GO IRISH!
Science Dean rides into St. Louis on Sunday, August 15, to support the Parseghian Foundation
Greg Crawford, Dean of the College of Science at the University of Notre Dame, and his wife Renate are cycling 2,200 miles from Arizona to Indiana in celebration of the new partnership with the Ara Parseghian Medical Research Foundation. Coach Parseghian lost three grandchildren to Niemann-Pick Type C (NPC), a rare and deadly neurodegenerative disease that primarily strikes children and the Notre Dame Center for Rare and Neglected Diseases is searching for answers in the fight against this and other rare diseases. You can follow the Dean’s bike ride at his Desert to Dome blog: http://blogs.nd.edu/gregcrawford
Please join us on Sunday, August 15, for Mass at 4 p.m. at St. Louis Priory School (St. Anselm's) followed by a reception at Growler's Pub (763 Old Ballas Rd) in Creve Coeur. The event is free, but donations in support of the Dean’s ride are greatly appreciated (the club will match the first $500 in donation by St. Louis club members). The club will provide appetizers and there will be a cash bar. Please come out and welcome the Crawfords to St. Louis. If you have questions, pleas contact Jack Dwyer at jepdwyer@yahoo.com.
