"How to Build Financial Security" Seminar

Date: To Be Determined
De Smet Jesuit High School
Feeling a little uneasy now with your investments and retirement plans?  Join the club. Literally, join the Notre Dame Club of St. Louis at a seminar on Financial Management, to be conducted by Thomas V. Clemens, CFP, CLU and ChFC. Tom is a Financial Representative with Northwestern Mutual and is also a graduate of the University of Notre Dame.

The title of Tom's presentation is "Financial Management - How to Build Financial Security." The goal of his presentation is to communicate ideas and information that will help build financial security and to answer the questions of why do some people succeed while others fail; why do some people struggle with worries, delays and regrets over money; how do others gain confidence by taking actions aimed at specific goals; and why is money a problem for some people and a problem-solver for others.

The event will be conducted at De Smet Jesuit High School, located at 233 North New Ballas, Creve Coeur, MO 63141. The discussion will begin at 6:30 p.m. (date TBD) and is expected to last 2 hours, depending on the amount of questions and interactions.

This free seminar is sponsored by the Prime Time Alumni group, with cooperation and appreciation from Mr. Clemens and Northwestern Mutual.

To RSVP, please contact Lionel Phillips via e-mail or call (314) 420-9857 (cell).

 Pray at Notre Dame

Pray at ND ... from wherever you are!  http://pray.nd.edu/

For many, the University of Notre Dame is a sacred place where people of all ages draw strength to love, to suffer in hope, to find faith in challenge, to discover their path, and ultimately, to remember their purpose. Pray at ND is our effort to bring the spiritual resources of our Lady's University to you. I hope that this Web site is a tool that inspires your prayer life and helps you to be present for good in your community, your home, your work place, and the world.

Rev. John Jenkins, C.S.C.
President, University of Notre Dame

 Hospital Support Program

We now have in operation a program to provide assistance to members of the Notre Dame family during hospital stays in hospitals away from home. We invite you to become a part of this effort.

The specific elements of the Hospital Support Program are:

  • Emergency Care: Help for individuals who are unexpectedly hospitalized while traveling thru our area.
  • Pre-Planned Care: Support to caregivers and patients who come to a hospital here for surgery or other procedures planned in advance.
  • Long Term Care: Support to caregivers and those who come to local hospitals, assisted-living facilities, nursing homes, et al, for continuing care.

Our current implementation of the Program includes only the Emergency Care program but we are planning to expand to other elements in the future.

Here’s how it works: The club management has a list of club members who have willingly volunteered to provide occasional support in various fields, such as transportation, housing, visitations, medical/professional advice. Those volunteering to be on this list are not committing to any particular situation, but have agreed to be contacted by a club representative when a need arises.

The specific needs:

  • Visit coordinators keep contact with the caregiver/patient, and coordinate the support of other club members as appropriate.
  • Housing providers have room in their homes near hospitals or have access to hotel rooms or other living accommodations.
  • Hospital volunteers spend time with patients during their confinement, sometimes to give caregivers some time off. They may also arrange for, or directly provide, Eucharistic and other church services.
  • Transportation volunteers provide various transportation needs, such as airport pickups.
  • Medical/Professional advisors provide advice when requested.

Are you interested?
If you are interested in volunteering with the Notre Dame Club of St. Louis' new Hospital Ministry Program, please e-mail Lionel Phillips, or call him at (314) 420-9857.
